Mexico City, June 7 and 8, 2010

The educational mission of the Latin American International Tax Program (LAITP) is to provide leading tax officials and tax practitioners with the finest intensive education on international taxation available in Latin America. The program’s primary goal is to challenge traditional disciplinary boundaries by teaching in fields that require problem-oriented interdisciplinary approaches.

The program has an international profile. Professors are drawn mainly from the sponsoring Universities as well as from the Mexican branch of the International Fiscal Association. Strong interaction between professors and participants is a key element of this program.

The program is based on investment-related case studies from the United States, Europe and Latin America to Latin America (and vice versa). Emphasis is given to the interaction of the Latin American tax treaty network with other tax treaty networks (such as those of Europe and the United States).
