Free movers
A free mover is a student who participates in credit mobility outside the framework of a formal exchange program between their home and the host university.
You may apply to UTDT as a free mover if:
- Your home university is not located in Argentina;
- Your university does not have a formal agreement with UTDT;
- Your university does have an agreement with UTDT, but you were not awarded an Exchange place;
- You are at least 18 years old at the start of the program at UTDT;
- You have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale);
- You have completed at least one year of university-level studies at your home institution prior to applying: and,
- Your home university can commit to crediting the courses you take at UTDT towards your university degree.
As a free mover, you will be required to pay tuition fees for the courses you attend at UTDT.

Application form
As part of the application, it will be nececessary to upload the following documents:
- Official University transcript in English or Spanish including the grades of the most recent semester and an explanation of the grading system used at the home university.
- Copy of passport information page (if a multiple passport holder, please only send the one that will be used to enter Argentina).
- Motivation letter or short essay (maximum length one page/page and a half maximum with simple spacing and font size 12).
- Formal color photo for UTDT student ID in .jpg format.
- Architecture and Design students must also submit a 5-20 page portfolio in .pdf format. weighing less than 10 MB. They will also be required to have a virtual admissions interview.
- Proof of language proficiency: the certificates listed below are only required when taking courses in a language that it not the mother toungue nor that of instruction at the home university. One of the following certificates must be submitted:
- Cambridge English: FCE/CAE/CPE. Grade: C or above
- IELTS: minimum overall score 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in reading, listening and writing
- TOEFL iBT: minimum overall score 85 (minimum 18 in reading and listening; 20 in speaking; 21 in writing) OR 4.5/6 (new score system starting on 2026)
- TOEIC: minimum scores: 800 (listening and reading) & 320 (speaking and writing)
- International Baccalaureate: English/English A: Language & Literature/English A: Literature/English B. Grade: 5 or above
- Duolingo: grade 100 or above
- Letter from home university indicating at least a B2 level
- University transcript showing the approval of at least four semesters of university-level courses in English
- Letter from home university indicating at least a B2 level
- University transcript showing the approval of at least four semesters of university-level courses in Spanish
- Certificate issued by a recognized educational institute or language testing entity (e.g. DELE, CELU, IB, etc.) showing at least a B2 level
Important!
- Incomplete applications will not be processed.
- An email confirmation will be sent when the application is correctly received.
- Admissions decisions will be communicated via email approximately four weeks after the application deadline.
Mandatory Orientation Program:
Each semester a compulsory program is offered before the undergraduate semester begins. This activity aims at helping students learn how to navigate the University, learn about social and academic resources/programs, receive academic advice, enroll in classes, meet new people, begin to make connections and get questions answered. An optional free-of-cost city tour is offered as part of the orientation program.
- First semester of 2026 (March - July): Thursday, February 26.
- Second semester of 2026 (August - December): Friday, July 31
Course registration:
The enrollment in courses takes place online approximately two weeks before the beginning of each semester.
Student fee:
All exchange and study abroad students will be required to pay a one-time, non-refundable student fee of U$D 50 to cover the cost of the orientation, printing and participation in sports, social, and cultural activites.
