Overview

The Ph.D. in Applied Science and Technology aims to train researchers capable of applying the scientific method rigorously and conducting advanced disciplinary research according to international standards. To this end, the University provides doctoral students with the guidance of an outstanding faculty and researchers, as well as the necessary infrastructure to develop original scientific work. These research projects, oriented toward publication in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, constitute the foundation of a four-year training process culminating in the writing and defense of a doctoral dissertation.

The program embraces a broad and dynamic conception of scientific disciplines, acknowledging the continuous evolution of fields of knowledge and the increasing interaction among them. It promotes both fundamental research at the frontiers of knowledge in areas such as digital technology, cognitive neuroscience, and artificial intelligence and the development of scientifically grounded technological innovations and applications.

In this way, the Ph.D. seeks to address the needs of society, the national and international scientific community, and industry, connecting knowledge creation with meaningful transfer and impact across diverse domains.
