Carlos, Summary Carlos Rivero is the Tax Corporate Director of MercadoLibre.
MercadoLibre hosts the largest online commerce and payments ecosystem in Latin America and are present in 18 countries including: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and Peru.
Under his leadership, the company achieved the IPO on Nasdaq. It was the first company with Argentinian management that became in a public listed company in New York Stock Exchange through an American parent company.
As Director of a growing company, Carlos has a leadership role, cover tax strategy, reporting, advisory and projects throughout Latin America and provide guidance on global strategic projects for the different units business in the most changing industry of recent times.
The meaningful proactive leadership of Carlos led him to found Lataxpro (Latin American Tax Professionals), a non-profitable professional association mainly focused in networking and building tax knowledge in a confidentiality environment with a pragmatic approach. More than 12 years of experience in international taxation including experience in handling corporate direct and indirect taxes allowed Carlos to join the TEI Chapter Latam commission and as a collaborator in the Digital economy & Industry 4.0 Task Force from B20.
