The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation: Apply for Grants

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation is a philanthropic, not-for-profit grantmaking institution based in New York City. The Foundation makes grants in support of original research and education on six broad subject matters, known within the Foundation as major program areas:

Basic Research
Science Education
Public Understanding of Science
Economic Performance and the Quality of Life
Select National Issues
Civic Initiatives

The Foundation is interested in projects that it expects will result in a strong benefit to society, and for which funding from the private sector, the government, or other foundations is not widely available.
