Call for papers – Dialogues on International Law - 2024

The 7th Conference “Dialogues on International Law” will take place at Di Tella Law School (Buenos Aires) on August 15th, 2024. The general theme of the conference will be “International Law & History”. The keynote lectures will be given by Professor Larissa van den Herik (University of Leiden) and Professor Samuel Moyn (Yale University).

The Conference seeks to bring together scholars in International Law and related disciplines, such as IR, History, Economics, and Philosophy, to examine contemporary issues concerning the international legal system, the international community. In 2024, the focus will be on contemporary work on history and international law. We welcome papers on any area of international law that tackles the general theme, including papers on war, trade, the environment, human rights, sources, regionalism, etc.

Di Tella Law School invites the submission of original papers. The call is open to scholars, practitioners, and advanced students of international law and related disciplines. Papers will be selected on the basis of quality, originality, and their capacity to generate an interesting discussion. Paper proposals must be unpublished, and may be submitted in Spanish and English. Discussion in Buenos Aires will be held in English.

Abstracts will be received (maximum 500 words) until February 14th, 2024. They should be sent to dialogosDI@utdt.edu. Selected participants will be notified by February 24th, 2024. Proposals should contain an abstract and a brief CV of the candidate(s). Drafts should be sent by August 1st at the latest to be circulated amongst participants.

Speakers will be responsible for their travel and accommodation expenses (limited funds may be available for accommodation). Selected papers from the Conference may be published in LADI – Revista Latinoamericana de Derecho Internacional, subject to peer review.
