Spanish Immersion Program
This 15-week long, full-time program is
designed for university students who want to spend a semester learning or
improving their Spanish while gaining an in-depth understanding of Argentina´s
history and culture.
All participants take three compulsory courses: two consecutive levels of
Spanish (84 lecture hours each) and a History and Culture course (48 lecture
hours) taught in English. Students are expected to do at least 1.5 hours of work on their own per class/
contact hours.
The program is divided into two 7-week modules. In each module, students take
one level of Spanish, the History and Culture course and attend 3 - 4 academic
& cultural visits. There is a week-long break on week 8 of the program.
Three levels of Spanish are offered during each module: Basic 1, Basic 2 and
Intermediate 1 in the first 7 weeks, and Basic 2, Intermediate 1 and
Intermediate 2 during the remainder of the program.
The Spanish Immersion Program runs from the end of January to early May, and from the end of August to early December.
Program fees may include housing in
homestays, some meals, excursions, cultural visits, all course materials, and
local support.
Important note: students
enrolled in this program cannot take UTDT´s regular semester courses. A fee for
this program applied to bi-lateral exchange students.
