Camila Perochena, professor from the Bachelor's Degrees in History and Social Sciences, was interviewed about Eva Perón by the British journalist Richard Quest for the series of CNN travel “Quest’s World of Wonder”, during a visit to the Recoleta cemetery.

“She is one of the most important figures in our history”, claimed Perochena, while leading Quest to Eva Perón’s tomb in the Recoleta cemetery.

The professor explained that the title of the famous song performed by Madonna as Eva Perón, “No llores por mí Argentina”, is a “good expression because, when she died, everybody cried. When she died, we had one of the most important funerals that we had in our history”.

Perochena affirmed that, although Argentinians don’t live in the past, “we talk always about the past. And we love the past, and we discuss about the past. And we always have fights about Perón, about the revolution, about the military dictatorship. We keep on talking about the past, and the past is very present in our everyday life”.
