Torcuato di Tella University sees inflation to continue lowering

Signs continue to increase that there is a generalized deceleration in prices and inflation expectations, according to the latest analysis by the Torcuato di Tella University (UTDT).

Inflation expectations for the next 12 months dropped five percentage points to 25 percent in July, according to the median response in the UTDT survey that is published monthly. In June, median inflation expectations had been 30 percent.

“Inflation expectations dropped 2.8 percentage points compared to June 2015 and are at 27.7 percent. Since December 2008, there was only one month (May 2015) in which the average was below the current level,” noted UTDT.
