Message from the Director

The economic, political and social models are wearing out.

Two elements explain the change that is occurring:

  • The models do not have the universality which they claim. Therefore, if socio-historical contexts change, the forms of society should also do so. In other words, the models, their logics and their history, share an indissoluble relationship with socio-historical contexts.
  • Socio-historical contexts are the fruit of a social construction.
  • Last but not least, each social construction has a guiding question. This question going through a   transformation, is shifting from “how” (how does the atom work?, how to organize a society?, how to reduce costs? how could we achieve mass production?) into “why” (why do we study?, why do we live?, why should we make business?).

In short, a paradigm has been exhausted and a new one is emerging.

The new governing question entails the necessity of deep reconsideration. From the business world, adjusting to the “traditional” model is not enough. It requires understanding the limits of the current business model and its characteristics to socially co-construct a new way of understanding what role businesses play in society.

This co-construction invites to redefine bonds, roles and activities between the players of society. For this, there is a need of a new intersectoral approach where public, private, third sector and community dialogue. ENI DI TELLA is a place that enables critical and constructive thinking regarding the paradigms that are emerging.

ENI belongs to everyone, I invite you to co-create!
